Recipe and Ingredients

Farmers can increase the level of their recipes to a maximum of Level 100 by producing goods. The recipe increase depends on the level. Higher level recipes cost more and can be used to buy more fuel. Leveling up recipes unlocks the ability to level up the crafting cottage (see table at right). Goods require a set amount of time in a barrel to become ready, but they do not spoil if left in the barrel past this time. There are a total of 15 recipes which can be created at the winery, using bushels from 26 different crops (see table below). It not necessary to master the crops before a farmer begins crafting goods. Those under 21 will see non-alcoholic names.

FarmVille Crafting Buildings Guide

Crafting Buildings is a more complex feature in FarmVille. It utilizes several existing FarmVille features such as Bushels, Farmer’s Market, and the usual harvesting and neighbor interactions. If you would like to understand how the Crafting Building will work or for those of you who do not have access to Crafting Buildings yet, you can get a jump start by reading this Guide.

Previous to their official release, FarmVille and FarmVille Freak referred to Crafting Buildings as “Crafting Cottages”. The name was changed to Crafting Buildings upon their release.

Crafting Buildings are accessible to Level 25 Farmers. Level 25 farmers and above will be albe to turn their Bushels into Crafted Goods to use with the Crafting Building.

Upon logging into FarmVille, you will see a pop-up that alerts you that Crafting Buildings have arrived and if you did not participate in the “Crafting Cottage Preview,” you will have a new opportunity to pick your building.

Step 1: Pick your profession by choosing the coordinating Crafting Building. You have three choices:

1. The Winery – Make Wine
2. Bakery – Make Baked Goods
3. Spa – Make Perfume

* Each building has its own unique set of recipes you can use to create crafted goods.
* You can view how many of your FarmVille neighbors picked each specific building (as shown below).

Clicking “What is this” will give you more detailed information on each of the buildings. Once you have decided on your profession, clicking “Yes, Place” allow you to place your Crafting Building on your Farm for free.

For those who have already chosen a Crafting Building by participating in the Preview, you will be prompted with a different pop-up. At this point you will have the chance to change the Crafting Building you initially selected or keep the one you already chose.

Step 2: Placing your Crafting Building on your Farm.

Upon placing your building, you can share a FaceBook newsfeed that will inform your friends of your new business and give them the opportunity to adopt some supplies. The first 5 neighbors who click on this feed within 24 hours will receive 1 of the following items: (Note: Item depends on the Craft you have chosen).

* Baker : Level 10 Triple Berry Pie
* Spa Host: Level 10 Relaxation Candle
* Wine Maker: Level 10 Tropical Wine

Your Buildings Recipe menu will automatically appear after posting the newsfeed notice.

Step 3: Making Goods

* Everyone will start with one Level 10 Good that is 1 minute from completion.
* Clicking on “Make a good” will bring you to your recipes menu.
* Your recipe to make a Good will depend on the profession you selected.
* Click “Make it” from the bottom of the menu to create your Good.

Recipes will require you to have Goods. Goods will require you to collect Bushels from your friends, because Bushels are the key ingredients for Goods. Remember, that you can obtain Bushels the following ways:

How to Obtain Bushels:

1. Harvesting your own Bushels from crops you have planted.
2. Visiting your neighbors’ Market Stalls.
3. “Adopting” Bushels via the Facebook newsfeed from your friends.

After “Making your Good” it will need time to Cook. Clicking the “Finish it” button will complete the Level 10 Good. It is now ready to use for your Recipe.

After completing your Good, you will receive the pop-up below and also have the opportunity to share a newsfeed and give the first three neighbors who click within 24 hours to get 1 type of Good made.

Step 4: Selling Goods

* Clicking on “Goods I am selling” from the crafting menu displays the goods you currently have for sale.
* Selling goods improves existing Recipes and unlocks new ones!
* Each time you sell a good to your Neighbors, you will receive 1 Recipe XP.
* Access your “Sales Report”at the bottom of the menu. This report shows you what Goods you have sold and how many were purchased.
* If neighbors purchased from your store while you were away, a bouncing arrow will appear over your building. Clicking on this will show the following menu:

* You earn 90% of the sale price of items sold.
* The Daily Sales Report will display the amount of total coins and experience earned in your absence.

Leveling Your Crafting Building

If you wish to make a successful and thriving business, you must Level-Up your Crafting Building.

* The level of your Building determines the number of crafting spots you have available for use.
* Leveling your building will also unlock new recipes.
* You can level your Building with Farm Cash or coins by unlocking the option.
* To unlock the coin option, you have to level a certain amount of recipes. (See requirements below):

Amount of Recipes Required for Crafting Building

* 1 Star: Level up recipes 6 times + 50,000 coins
* 2 Star: Level up recipes 18 times + 100,000 coins
* 3 Star: Level up recipes 27 times + 400,000 coins
* 4 Star: Level up recipes 36 times + 1,000,000 coins

Recipes are leveled up by fulfilling the requirements above. Basically each time you make a recipe it will count towards your level up progression. Continue making the required Goods your Recipe requires.

* The higher level your Recipe is, the better your crafted Goods will be.
* There is no limit on how high you can level your recipes!
* Currently Crafting Building can only be upgraded to 5 Stars. Once you have a 5 star Building, the buttons to level with coins or cash will disappear.

When you level your Building, you will receive a pop-up below and the opportunity to share a FaceBook newsfeed with your friends that will allow the first three neighbors who click this feed within 24 hours to receive a level 3 crafted good.

Step 5: Trading Goods for Rewards:

In addition to selling your crafted Goods to your friends, they can also be traded for rewards. To access Goods that you have in your inventory, click “Use” from the crafting menu and select “Goods”.his menu displays how many crafted goods you possess.

* You can only have 200 Crafted Goods in your inventory at a time.
* This capacity limit only pertains to your Crafted Goods.
* Your Bushel inventory does not count towards this capacity.

If you click the “use” button underneath a good, you will trade it for fuel.

* The higher the level of the crafted good you use, the more fuel you will get.
* You can see your fuel gauge increase within the inventory menu.

Step 6: Purchase or Sell Goods

You can purchase or sell Goods from your FarmVille neighbors.

You can purchase/sell by visiting your neighbors by two ways:

1. From the Crafting menu, click “Buy”. You will then see the option to select “Shop for Goods” or “Shop for Bushels”. Clicking “Shop for Goods” will bring up the following menu.

* From this menu, you can select the type of good you would like to purchase.
* Clicking “select” underneath a good triggers another menu that automatically displays the highest level goods for sale first.
* Select the good you want to purchase and you will be brought to the following screen:

2. By visiting a neighbors farm.

* Simply click on their Crafting Building to see what they have available for you to buy.
* Upon purchasing an item from your Neighbor’s store, you will receive a pop-up allowing you to post a feed to their wall informing them of your actions.
* The first 3 Neighbors to click this feed within 24 hours will receive 1 good of the same type as the one you purchased. (see below)

* Goods purchased from your Neighbors can also be traded for Fuel.

Deleting Your Crafting Building and Buying a New Crafting Building:

If for some reason you wish to delete your Crafting Building or purchase a new one…

* All progress on the level of the Building and Recipes will be saved.
* You will lose all Goods that are being sold in your store at the time.
* If you wish to purchase a new Crafting Building, it can be purchased from the “Buildings” section of the Market for 100,000 coins, provided it is the same building you initially signed up for.
* If you wish to purchase the two Buildings you did not sign up for, they can be bought for 80 FV$ Farm Cash each.
* You may only own one of each type of Building at a time.

* Facts were sourced directly from the Official FarmVille Forum.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

1 – The Hot Air Balloon was a special item, one weekend only, as a “Thank You” gift from Zynga. (Same as the Superberries were.) Balloons are decorative only, they don’t serve any function. And no, you can’t get the sheep out of the balloon basket. It is just along for the ride.

2 – Two tractors don’t get you two fuel tanks. Harvesters and seeders use the same fuel tank as tractors. Three pieces of equipment doesn’t get you three fuel tanks.

3 – Planting raspberries won’t give you experience points. You will still get 1 xp for each field you plow, but not for actually planting the raspberries. Also, you don’t get xp from harvesting anything. You get experience points from plowing, planting (everything except raspberries) and purchasing (buildings, decorations) NOT from harvesting.

4 – “Pet” animal is like “Horn” on the tractor – the only thing that happens is that the animal makes noise, and little hearts appear. Since rabbits don’t make sounds, there is no option to pet the rabbits. Sorry.

5) Yes, FarmVille cash costs real money. This is a fact of life. You don’t have to buy FV cash, as it is possible to play a complete and full game without it. You can buy expansions with “coins + neighbors” option OR with FV cash, your choice. The tractor fuel tanks will refill in 6 hrs, 15 minutes for free OR you can buy one-time use tanks for FV cash if you can’t wait. The only things that you must have FV cash for are some decorations and buildings, plus one tree (acai) and those items are not necessary to level up, get your ribbons and rewards, or to gain xp. (Yes, they help, but you don’t have to have them. You can advance without them.) THEY ARE OPTIONS for people who want to contribute their hard earned dollars to support this game. Note: There are some free offers that work most of the time, when they don’t click the Missing FV Cash? button and submit a ticket, you will get the FVC in a few days.

6 – You earn FV cash when you level up, one bill each level. This is relatively new, and was done, I believe, as a response to everybody who complained that “It’s not fair” that you have to buy FV cash. You are given 5 FV cash to start. This was not retroactive for high level players who had been in the game for a long time when the concept was first initiated (perhaps “unfair,” but a nightmare to sort out, I would think.) Think of these extra bucks as a gift, not an inalienable right. You may not see the increase right away. It doesn’t happen instantly; may take some time to see credit in your FC account, due to lag issues. Check back later or sign out of the game and back in to see if it shows up.

7 – This game is still in Beta testing, and glitches happen. In fact, they are expected. When you lose something, ranting, screaming, crying, cursing, etc. won’t get your stuff back. Nobody “owes” you anything. If you paid for something with Farm Cash or coins that you purchased with Real Life money, then see the Restoration Policy to get credit back. Otherwise, simply post your problem in the Bug Reporting section so that the developers know what is happening. Be calm, clear, and concise – don’t rant and rave. Whining and temper tantrums don’t get results.

8 – There are lots and lots of places to get more answers in the official forums located here– the FAQs and the Community Created Guides are chock full of helpful information. Also, learn to use the “Search” function. Very easy to use and you will find tons of informationwithout having to post another redundant thread.

9 – “It’s not fair!” is tiresome and dull, many things about the game you will not agree with, the developers are working on fixing bugs and introducing more items and features every day, sit back and wait it out. If you still are unhappy take a break and come back in a couple months, or quit.

10 – How to Adopt Lost Animals? You don’t get to adopt the lost animals that appear on your property. When a Lost Animal wanders onto your farm, you are given the option to Help the animal or to Ignore it. “Help” puts a post on your Facebook wall, announcing the lost animal. Your friends and neighbors can click on the link to adopt it. For you to adopt a lost animal, YOUR friends and neighbors have to find a lost animal, agree to Help it, post it on THEIR wall, and then YOU have to click the Adopt link. It is a matter of luck (keeping it in the box is only a rumor, most users and moderators agree it is baseless…) whether you get that animal or not. Keep trying.

11 – The Gold Fountain is FarmVille’s name for the flying coin, the floating gold, the gold potato, the golden egg, the gold floaty thing, the tossed coin, the bouncing coin, the dropping coin, the gold sponge, the jumping cheese(?), a melon – pick your favorite description.

This one is a little controversial. The official word from the FAQs is that when the gold coinappears, you get an additional 100 coins added to your account. The coin fountain occurs during plowing. (The FAQs say “plowing, planting or harvesting,” but I have only seen it when I plow.) It happens with the hand-plow tool (one plot per click) as well as when plowing with the tractor (4 plots per click) and is totally random; nothing you can do to generate it. You don’t have to click on the coin or try to catch it in anyway. The bonus is automatic.

While officially you are supposed to get a 100 coin bonus with this feature, in practice players who are watching this very closely, including myself, are reporting only a 50 coin bonus.
According to the Zynga support FAQ, the coins appear about 1% of the time.

12 – What are “Unique Gifts and Trees?” In FarmVille lingo, “unique” means “different,” not “special.” Example: In the part of the USA where I live, it would be very “unique” (special) to see a banana tree, since they do not grow here. But, when the ribbon says you have to harvest 15 unique trees, it means 15 “different” trees, not 15 trees that you consider to be special.

There are now 16 unique trees; you must harvest from 15 of them:
Cherry
Apple
Orange
Plum
Peach
Lemon
Lime
Fig
Avocado
Apricot
Grapefruit
Banana
Passion Fruit
Date
Pomegranate
Olive

Please note that the Acai tree, available for purchase with FC only, is not required for your Tree Hugger ribbon.

“Unique gifts” means 21 different gifts in your gift box at one time. If you take each gift out of your gift box and place it on the farm as soon as you receive it, you won’t achieve this ribbon. But, your gift box only holds 30 gifts. The answer is to keep one of each unique (“different”) gifts in your box and place the others on your farm. Holding 5 goats and 3 chickens and 2 cherry trees is only 3 UNIQUE gifts, not 10. Dump the duplicates (doubles, triples, etc.) and keep only one of each different item until you have achieved all your Giftedribbons. Then, you can use (or sell) the gifts.

13 – How do the vehicles work?
There are 3 vehicles you can purchase – tractor, harvester, seeder. Each will cost you 30,000 coins. You must have a clear space on your farm to set the vehicle down before you go to the Market and buy it.

14 – The first vehicle you buy will come with a full fuel tank, capable of plowing (or harvesting, or planting) 150 plots. It will refill over time. If you run it completely dry, it will take 6 hrs, 15 min to fill. Each additional vehicle you buy will NOT come with another fuel tank. Let me repeat. Each of the three vehicles SHARE one 150 unit fuel tank. This means if you have all 3 vehicles, you can harvest, plow, and plant 50 plots total before running out of fuel.

15 – If you BUY fuel refills in the Market with FC (= Real Life Money) these tanks are 1 time use only. You will get 150 plots out of each tank, but when it dries up, it is gone. Empty. Kaput. Vanished. It will not refill like your original tank does.

Fuel issues aside, the way to use each vehicle is to click on it. You will get a drop-down menu that says “move, sell, plow (or harvest, or seed)” Also, “horn” – this honks the horn, which is a cute, but otherwise useless, feature. You will then have a 2×2 block of 4 plots highlighted. To plow, put the highlighted boxes over green space or fallow ground and click. To harvest, place the boxes over ripe crops, to plant, place them over plowed ground.

You can plow (or harvest or plant) in 4 block sections; you can also use it as a 3-block “L” shape in tricky corners, around trees for example. Each block will cost you 1 fuel unit.

For plowing, it will also cost you 15 coins per plot (4×15 = 60 per each 4 block unit you plow) and you will gain 1 xp per plot plowed (4xp if you plow 4 plots.) You still have the same chance of getting a gold coin bonus when you use the tractor to plow. (about 1% of the time)

For harvesting, you will gain whatever coins you would ordinarily get for that crop, times the number of blocks harvested. (You can harvest mixed crops, if they are ripe at the same time. If I had a row of tomatoes next to a row of pumpkins and they were all ripe, I could harvest 2 blocks of tomatoes and 2 blocks of pumpkins with the same single click of the harvester.)

When you use the seeder, it will first take you to the Market to choose a seed type (1 kind of seed per 4 block unit) You will pay the usual number of coins and gain the usual number of xp for whatever crop you plant, times 4 blocks.

No FarmVille Feed? Resolve it Here!

Step 1

On your feed list click Status Updates

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click "Edit Options"

Then check through the list for FarmVille, if you see it, click Add To News Feed, if not move on to step 2

Step 2

On your feed list click News Feed

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click "Edit Options"

In the "Show More" box type FarmVille and hit enter. Once you see it in the box below that click save and check your feed list and feed, you should now have FarmVille on your feed or in your feed list

This works great for most people, however I recommend logging out immediately after you get it back as this seems to force Facebook to save the feed. If it disappears after this just try the steps again, some people have no problem getting it to save and others have it constantly dissapearing.

If these do not help or you have found another way to fix this, please leave a comment. Thanks!
